Wilson & Claire

COFFEE FOR GOOD.

When newlyweds Emory and Abby came to me for the branding of their new e-commerce coffee business, I jumped right on board! As creatives, they wanted their brand to look fun and unique, but also be inviting to any level of coffee drinker. We began with a meeting about their vision, mission, and the story behind the name, which is a combination of the duo’s middle names. My goal was to combine their two different visions into one cohesive brand.

The brand came together with an elegant wordmark wrapped around whimsical shapes in a fun multi-colored palette.

For every 8oz bag purchased, Wilson & Claire donates $1 to Neverthirst, a charitable non-profit that brings clean water to unreached communities around the world.

Color Palette.

To get a better understanding of the styles they gravitated towards, I had Emory and Abby put together individual Pinterest boards of typography, colors, logo styles, and packaging. After swatching every single image on their color board, I ordered the swatches by color, and made “color doodles” to find the perfect palette.

The Brand.

Defining a brand’s personality is one of the first exercises I do with a client. We came up with 5 keywords to describe Wilson & Claire:

  • whimsical, approachable, fun, bright & elegant.

The stylescape shown above is the finalized identity of the brand.

The Packaging.

“Don’t be afraid to get creative!”
— The dream client aka Emory & Abby Eledui

Bringing the brand to life, I ditched the typical rectangle sticker and opted for an organic die-cut label to be placed at the edge of the bag. This unique shape stands out while keeping packaging costs low.
